every so often

i get an idea to make myself a blanket i have 2 for me that i have made 1 i keep becuse its big & i live the shade of purple i used & the other one i got the yaen as a birthday gift from home teachers & i love that blanket although im thinking of giving that one away

friday or saturday i decided that i wanted a granny square throw for myself so i bought the colors i wanted now keep in mind that sevral years ago i made myself a blanket useing these same colors & gave it away

yep i chose black & purple wich i do love together im just not 100% sold on how much i love it


after looking at this picture im likeing it more

however if any one reading this knows someone who needs a throw blanket let me know they can have this one

the joys of fall

i have a friend who is attending school at byu idaho she loves atumn colors i thought she is cold up in the snow she also wants a ranch to live on when i think of a ranch i think of a ranch style house when i think of that i think of what i do best

so i picked these colors out

and made this for her

im not to horrably fond of fall colors i like them juxt not alot so i had never thought to use them in a blanket till last week i actually love them in this blanket im so glad i used four colors it turned out so pretty im glad it did & my friend loves it

some fun things

i went to the third jewlery making class last night (i almost forgot im glad i remembered) we made earings & a ring it was fun alot funner then the purple wire braclet in the ast post

this is what i did today

i sighned up for 3 jewlery making classes 2 of wich were today

so when you sighn up for classes the give you a supply list of what you will need (the plyers i borrowed from mom) so the day i shighned up i bought the purple wire & the 2 boxes in the back then i decided i wanted to be more prepared so i bought the supplies for class #2 last night right befpre class #2 started we discoverd the the teacher had the correct list & we had the wrong list so after spending tons of money for the rest of the stuff in the picture i retuned the whole purches & bought what was needed & that was much mich less

in the first class she tought us what she needed to & didnt want anyone going home empty handed so this is what we made i enjoyed makeing these

class #2 was more frustrating the teacher kept saying that this braclet was to hard for beginners to make & i have to agree at one point i was almost to the point of giving up i was frustrated not as frustrated as i was with knitting i actually gave up on knitting however i am proud of my messy braclet & yes i need to fix it

class #3 is on monday we will be making diffrent earings & a ring the teacher says that those are easier then this braclet im excited for monday

if you recall a few posts ago i talked about my experince with learning how to knit needless to say i havent gone back to a knitting class when i decided to get a refund for the classes i also needed to bring back some kintting supplies i had bought to make socks i loved the yarn so much that i just couldnt return it so i decided to crouthe me a scarf instead i finished it tonight & i love how it turned out

as you all know i learned how to crouthet granny squares last month i started off by making tons of squares to make a blanket then changed smy mind & did a granny throw with all the squares i made i put them together & made a bag for my sister angie she loved it

now on to the throw i made it for my sister lindsay i was going to do a dectative border then i changed my mind & im glad i did she wanted orange added to the blanket so i did she loved it

so frusrated

i took the basics of knitting last night (this post was going to be done after the class to say all the positive things i had learned post being done today because i need to get a level head) but that didnt happen

i get to the class thinking "this is going to be easy like crocheting" YEA RIGHT i could not get it to save my life


i can cast on as you can see in the picture (sorry its so bad)

the teacher showed me several times what to do after this but for whatever reason i could not get it at all i sat thee for 2 hours frustrated almost in tears (i still want to cry out of frustration) since i signed up for the second class & the teacher is a wonderful person she told me to practice at home come to the next class & she will help me more with getting how to do this the nest class is monday

can you guess what i will be doing all weekend?

i also read my book for the month it was a short one called christmas rose (i dont have it near me so im not sure who the authors are there are two) it is about a girl who lives behind a nursing home that her mother works in & is a single parent & the friendships & life lessons this girl learns

yesterday i posted about doing a border for the blanket im making for my sister she has seen part of the blanket not the border that is a superise i have been working on the boarder today & wanted to share what i have done

i said that i would read one book a month om not sure if i read one a month or not i read a book then go on to the next with out paying attention to the time so there ya go i was going to start reading the hunger games but couldnt get my hands on it so i started the percy jackson & the olympians instead i just now like 3 minutes ago finished the second book in that series im loving it i loved how the second book ended cant wait to start the next book

as you al know i took some crocheting classes i finished making a granny square throw blanket for my younger sister i bought a pattern book for decorative borders im going to put a border on this blanket i personally love the border however it scares me because im still not used to reading a pattern so im hoping really hard it turns out good when im done with it & my sister has the blanket in her hands i will post a picture of it she knows what the blanket looks like but doesnt know what the border is going to be i want that to be a surprise im excited to see how it turns out

one week has gone by

wowza i cant believe its been one week already i have been busy with work & my project im making & a small road trip to my sister & her family that i havent really thought about bogging what i have been doing.

a couple weeks a go i learned how to make granny squares i also have a pattern to make a granny square throw blanket which i like because i dont have to attach alot of squares together which i like the little granny squares attached as a big blanket

i decided that since my sister has inspired me to learn more crocheting stitches & to learn how to read a pattern i would make her a blanket with what i have recently learned ie granny squares i started off making a bunch of squares to attach to make a blanket the colors chosen are purple green & black the shades of purpe & green are the halloween shades well i got a good chunk of squares done when for some odd reson i changed my mind & started the granny square throw blanket im still not sure why i did but i did & im sticking to that decision

so i start it sometime this week my sister knows she is getting this blanket & what it looks like i went to see her last night (she ran the st. george marathon this morning she is awesome & so is her family) i got on the subject of the blanket & i wasnt to happy with it she put me in my place which was needed so thank you for doing that at that time it was just an over sized square every time i looked at it i would think what am i thinking this is never going to look like a blanket its just going to be one huge over sized square it never seemed to be getting significantly bigger till today i did 3 rounds which isnt alot but it made a difference i have been working on it for a few more hours now (it is a very tedious time consuming blanket) it is looking more like a blanket then an over sized square it got me thinking i always do this (i have known the single crochet for years now) every time i make a blanket i look at it & think this is never going to get bigger that throws me into would if i dont make it the right size or they dont like it just a bunch of useless worry probably for nothing then after a while when i do look at the blanket good it has gotten huge & i dont worry to much after that

after a break from the blanket for my sister im not as worried as i was im learning slowly but surely that if i like what i make than im sure the person receiving it will like it too

i ended up making a blanket at the time i started i didnt know how to do anything else

before i finished i had taken the crocheting classes so around the edges i did a double crotchet stitch & made corners normally i would just do the single crochet stitch around & the corners would be round now that i know how to make squares i made these corners square instead of round

tonight i took the last croutheting class i sighned up for i think o was most excited for this class i have always loved granny squares & squers that are simalar im so glad i toom it

at first i was frustrayed becuse i wasnt underdstanding what the pattern said & how to actually do it after awhile i got it thank heavens i used blak & purple i made two squares the are opposite of each other then i sewed them together when i was getting ready to leave the woman in there who was knitting said mine looked like halloween they are good colors for halloween im going to make a blanket useing granny squares i will post a picture of the finished product when its done & that will be a while

i need to finish my scarf i started yesterday & another blanket both of those shouldnt take me very long to finish

what i learned in my crotheting class

i took my second crotheting class tonight it was fun i learned how to read a pattern YAY ME IM SO EXCITED I LEARNED HOW TO READ A PATTERN FINALLY last week we asked the teacher about the supplies list we got she said that we could use the hook we had been given last week & if we had extra yarn we could use that & that is the same for tomarrow thanks to my sister lindsay i have tons of yarn & i used some tonight & will be useing more tomorrow as will one other girl in the class thanks lindsay

it took me 2 1/2 hours to do everything in these pictures i went in thinking it wont be that hard or time consuming boy was i wrong it wasnt hard but it is time consuming i have to make like six pansies & three leafs for each flower finish the sarf then sew it all together im excited to see the finished project & yes i will finish it soon

temporairily out of service

since im working weekends going to church isnt going to be happening at least not for now it makes me sad becuse i enjoy going to church sometimes it is hard to stay but i do miss going when i dont go

and my phone is giveing me a hard time for some strange reason it wont let me let me get into my text messages & other stuff ugh im going to have to get another one sent to me ugh im frustrated with it at least i was able to get the text messages from the charge nurse today she asked if i could see someone else today so its good i was able to get it the info i needed

today i finished reading percy jackson & the olympians the lightning theif its thr frist one in the series it was good now im going to start the second one


today i had my frist crocheting class i figured start from the beginning even thow i know the chain stich & the single stich i have tried to learn to do double stich i realized that i didnt do it right so im happy i learned that & know it now we had extra time & learned how to do the half double stich so i practiced that as well it was fun im glad i took it here are some pictures of what i learned i didnt make anything its just a practice thing of what i learned




the teacher was really nice one girl had sighned up for the knitting class that was last night & the teacher is also the knitting teacher so she tought the one girl how to knit while we learned how to qrouchet im so excited for next weeks lessons wendsday we learn to read a pattern & make a flower scarf then thursday we learn how to make granny squares woo hoo

latest finished project

by all means im am not a good crothaer i can make blankest with the one stich i know i have even made myself a purse sevral years ago it turned out cute considering it was the first one i made i decided that i was going to try to make another purse so i did it was the pink one i posted it turned out cute i didnt like how i ended up sewing the handel on becuse i couldnt remember how i sewd on the handle of the first purse so o-well

my last poste i posted some pictures of a birthday present i made for my sister her birthday is today she got the present & loved it so here it is



yep a bag big enough to carry a note book in she is a writer & writes the first draft of her stories in a notebook so of course i gave her a notebook inside of the bag yellow is her favorite color

i have always said yelow is the happiest color on earth every time i look at something yellow it puts an instant smile on my face

so a couple of posts ago i posted this little girl purse & didnt know where i shoud put the flowers everytime i thought about little girls & purses i thought flowers on top im not sure why i thought this but i do so on the top they went

i have been working on this next project this past week it includes these flowers

and this im not showing it all becuse its a birthday present & it wont get to the person till next week so this is all you get to see & yes its finished

while makeing these projects i started off with one price to trey to sell them for then while sewing in the flowers i had a compltley diffrent price wich was higher then i looked at it as a whole & decided i need classes & more practice before im comfortable selling them however blankets & scarfs are a differnt story

this is what i have been working on

since ast night anyway. i staryed making a purse a couple weeks ago then i didnt like the width so last night i started again & finished today i decided to make fowers on it. i have only made 1 flower once sevral years ago. i have a book packed somewhere & remeberd that the fowers in that had middles so i made up my own flower based one what i rember seeing in the book about the middles & the 1 flower i made sevral years ago im happy with how they turned out at least for the first time im sure they will get better with practice. my only decision now is do i put the flowers on the top like this

i finished

reading linger its the 2nd book in the shiver seires by maggie stuefvater i loved it its another teenage romance book that intails her & a werewolf are in love they are so much better then the twilight series no cheesy love triangles or as much drama

get a fancy camrea or not

so for several years i have wanted a fancy camera because i think they take great pictures i still think they do however im learning that different cameras can take just as good pictures depending on lighting & luck

can anyone tell me which camera i used for these pictures? my point & shoot, my cell phone camera, or my parents fancy camera?

most important thing i have learned

i just got out of a 4 year relationship 2 of which we were engaged im not heart broken or anything im not even angry i am bothered because he would tell me he was working on the issue that postponed the wedding in the first place when he didnt work on it hole heartedly which is fine just be honest about it

its been 1 year since the wedding was postponed in that year i started keeping an eye on things & noticed even more the what he would say how he would say things & most importantly his action im a firm believer in actions speak louder then words i heard once that doing nothing was an action that made sense to me so in this year lots of things started clicking with me the kicker was last week when i was having a conversation with family & they were stating their opinion which was opposite of what was really going to happen i had e-mailed him asking about the issue told him about what was said & that i was sick of it he called the next day & said something to the effect i dont know when the issue will be resolved maybe we should just go with each other call off the engagement & blame it all on me at this point i said nothing my first thought was this relationship is going to end soon i can feel it & he is blaming me for his actions for not getting his act together so we hung up i called him & e-mailed him didnt hear from him for 5-6 days i finally (after not being 100% sure where he stood on this issue) i sent an e-mail calling it off he wrote back stating "i know that you will be able to move on and have more peace in your life" that is word for word

the main thing i have learned is ITS MOST IMPORTANT TO STAND UP FOR YOURSELF NO MATTER WHAT FAMILY SAYS EVEN IF THEY CHANGE THE WAY THEY THINK OR SAY LATER
